South Bay Black Journal has published a new commentary by Fiona Ma on what Californians are saying about affordability, opportunity and accountability.
In “Listening First,” Fiona reflects on nearly 500 responses to campaign surveys in San Diego and Orange counties and on conversations with Californians across the state. She emphasizes that the surveys are not scientific polling, but a direct way for people to describe the pressures affecting their families and communities.
The piece focuses on recurring concerns including the cost of living, housing, economic opportunity and whether government is listening and delivering results.
