The San Francisco Examiner recently profiled Fiona Ma’s approach to economic development and the role she would play as Lieutenant Governor. The interview was also republished by South Bay Black Journal.
In the conversation, Fiona discussed making California more business-friendly, listening directly to employers about why companies leave the state and strengthening partnerships between businesses and California’s public universities.
She also highlighted plans to expand paid internships and apprenticeships, connect students with pathways to good jobs, increase student and faculty housing and reactivate the state’s economic-development efforts to attract investment and retain employers.
Fiona said she would bring the same field-oriented approach she has used throughout her public service career: showing up, listening and working directly with communities and industries to solve problems.
