KBLA Talk 1580 has included Fiona Ma for Lieutenant Governor in its Who Invested in Black Media? listing for the 2026 general election. The graphic identifies candidates and organizations that purchased advertising on the Los Angeles talk radio station, which is Black-owned and operated.
Advertising with KBLA is one way the campaign has supported independent Black media while reaching communities through outlets that cover their perspectives, priorities and concerns.
The campaign has also contributed original commentary to the South Bay Black Journal. Fiona’s articles “Listening First” and “Your Ballot Is Your Voice — Make Sure It Is Counted” addressed community priorities and voting information. A separate statement prepared for the Urban Business Journal discussed Fiona’s record and proposals for California small businesses, including businesses in urban communities.
KBLA makes clear that its listing documents paid advertising and does not constitute an endorsement. The campaign appreciates the opportunity to invest in a media outlet serving Black audiences and to contribute to independent community journalism.
