Fiona Ma highlighted accessory dwelling units as a practical tool for expanding housing supply while helping families stay close for childcare and senior caregiving.
Speaking at an ADU-focused conference, Fiona called for more financing options, including bank lines of credit and low-interest construction loans. She also proposed an ADU showcase lot where homeowners could compare different models in one place.
The event brought together housing leaders including Assemblymember Buffy Wicks, Casita Coalition CEO Noerena Limon and industry participants working to expand ADU construction and financing across California.
