California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, who attended Tuesday’s event, emphasized the broader impact of the investment being made in east Bakersfield.
“This investment from Anthem is a perfect example of what happens when the public and private sectors come together for community good,” Ma said in a statement.
“This new Anthem Housing Navigation Center is more than a building; it’s a model for how we solve the housing and addiction crisis by investing in local solutions that change lives.
“The state,” she said, “is proud to stand with Bakersfield Recovery Services and Kern County to support this work.”
